The Gift of Fostering: My Journey and Why I Chose to Foster

In life, we often find ourselves called to unexpected paths—journeys that challenge us, transform us, and fill our hearts with a profound sense of purpose. For me, that calling came in the form of fostering. Today, I invite you into my world as I share the story of why I chose to become a foster parent—a decision fueled by the unwavering call of God and the deep desire to extend love to children who needed it most. Answering the Call Life has a funny way of presenting us with opportunities we never anticipated. As a single woman, not sure if more children of my own was in God's plan for me, I felt a stirring in my heart—a divine whisper guiding me toward a different kind of motherhood. It was as if God, in His infinite wisdom, was beckoning me to open my home and my heart to little ones in need of love and stability. The Emotional Journey Choosing to become a foster parent is not a decision one makes lightly. It requires a willingness to embrace the unknown, navigate the comp

The Glamorous Life of Motherhood: A Birthday Adventure

Ah, motherhood, the land of rainbows, unicorns, and uninterrupted "me" time. Isn't it just fantastic when life surprises you on your special day with a phone call from daycare, informing you that your child is sick? Let's dive into the delightful journey of a mom's birthday turned upside down. Picture this: It's your birthday, and you've been eagerly looking forward to a day of relaxation and perhaps a little bit of selfish indulgence. But, as fate would have it, the devil himself decides to throw you a curveball in the form of a sick child. How considerate! As you receive the dreaded phone call, your heart sinks, and a sigh escapes your lips. Goodbye, nap. Hello, prompt care waiting room (thankfully Grandma took one for the team on this one). Is it Bedtime Yet?

As I sat down, laptop in front of me, I began to ponder what my next blog post might be about. Well, it didn't take long to figure it out. It's the age-old question all moms ask themselves at least once a day.... is it bedtime yet?! No, really, is it bedtime yet? My ears are consistently being assaulted by statements like, "Mom, he hit me," or "I had that toy first."  And then there is the crying. SO much crying! I mean seriously, is it a full moon?  I have never related to a meme more at this moment than the one below.  As I creep my eyes over the top of the laptop, afraid, I will see fire surrounding me, I snap back into reality and come to the conclusion, I am over mom life today! Did I just admit that out loud? YEP, sure did! But, I know I am not alone and you all won't judge me....right?!? I was really hoping to make a meaningful post this evening, but for the sake of my sanity and to rescue the child, who looks like they are about to be body slamme

So, grab a cup of coffee (or your beverage of choice) and settle in as I share the twists and turns that have shaped me into the person I am today. Since we all live in a busy world and don't have all day to read this blog, I won't start ALL the way at the beginning, but I will start somewhere in my early twenties when I embarked on a quest for meaning and purpose. In the midst of soul-searching, I discovered an unshakable faith in Jesus Christ. It was a transformative moment that ignited a fire within me and set me on a path of adventure, growth, and self-discovery. Driven by a toxic relationship and a restless spirit, I made a bold decision—I packed my bags, bid farewell to familiar faces, and set off for the sunny shores of Florida. It was a leap of faith, both figurativ
